COME EXPLORE OUR BEAUTIFUL COASTLINE ​

Coastal explorers is a fantastic way for children to connect with nature and develop primary skills such as team wok, emotional intelligence, social skills and confidence in an outdoor setting. It sparks intrinsic motivations to explore, be curious and create all while getting some fresh sea air. 

​

No two days will be the same as we have many activities to offer; we will collect shells and cast them in Plaster of Paris, identify local coastal plants and create natural prints, create coastal colour wheels,  go on beach scavenger hunts, do lots of digging and construct sea defence walls, stack stones and build mosaics like the Romans, explore our rock pools and identify creatures (and more) as well as playing lots of games on the beach!

Not only do we have lots of activities but we learn about interesting facts of South Shields and talk to qualified lifeguards about water safety. 

​

Each session will begin with a safety talk, and rules for working on the beach. We will be in small groups with a 1:8 ratio. During lunch / snack time we will all sit together and enjoy our food. We use the public toilets at the amphitheater and children will be taken by a member of staff with a current DBS check.

• £10 per person wth a 10% discount when booking more than 4 sessions

• Tuesday - Friday during school holidays 

• 09:30am - 12:30pm

• Come along to as many sessions as you like!

• For ages 5+

• Adults welcome to join to supervise

• Bring weather dependant clothes (hat, suncream, waterproofs etc)

• Spare clothing

• Packed lunch and water
