South Shields Surf CIC.
We are open! Our group lessons are restricted to 5 people per session and we've put in place lots of procedures to keep you and our staff safe during the current pandemic and you can read the full procedures here.
Some things havent changed we're excited to get you into the ocean and having a great time, will give you the gear and expertise needed to do this and our lifeguard trained staff will keep you safe.
The main differences you'll notice are:
All bookings will be online.
For each session booked (hire or a lesson) you will have a twenty minute window before the booked start time to collect your equipment and get changed ready for the session.
If you miss your twenty minute pick up time then you will have to wait until the next free slot when you can collect your equipment and then you'll start your session 20 minutes from then.
We have social distancing markers and barriers in place.
Hand sanitising stations.
The changing rooms are closed.
All the gear is disinfected and wetsuits with a virucidal sanitiser.
We believe that being in the ocean and at the beach is good for everyone and everyone should be able to access this. We want to use the ocean and beach to benefit our community’s social, physical and mental well-being and we want to protect this environment for future communities.
Basically we love being in the ocean and on the beach and want to share that with you! We have loads of sessions and lessons happening delivered at our Surfing England Accredited surf school by fully qualified and well experienced instructors catering for all abilities - check out our regular sessions below and hover over a picture for more info.
Whether it's surf lessons or stand up paddle hire, with individuals or big groups, in the ocean or rock pools, developing projects using the benefits of the sea, beach cleans or using beach access wheel chairs, we've got something for you and if we don't then let us know here and we'll try our best to do something about that.
